Unlocking the N95

I have the chance of buying a friends N95, the problem is that it's on orange, can the N95 be unlocked, if so how???

You can Unlock the N95, however, where it's a new phone, you're probably going to have to pay someone over an automated telephone voice, which calculates the phone unlock code for you based on your phone's IMEI. Number.

Personally, I've never really been comfortable with that.

I unlocked my T-Mobile N95, via a postal service with a UK shop. It took more than the promised 24 hours to turn around, but to be fair I did post it to them late on a Thursday. I was more than happy with that service, plus they guaranteed to unlock it.

The only grumble I did have was that whilst removing the cover, they got dust on the sticky pad, which don't stick anymore, so I got a loose cover. Not to big a prob. though as I use a hard-shell for added protection.

I didn't trust the over-the-phone unlocks, as I read somewhere that to unlock the 3rd gen. S60 Nokia's you need to use test-points on the main board.
