Nokia map loader

I can't download mpas via nokia maploader, however I think I'm doing something wrong. I have bought a new 4gb memory card in order to transfer the maps onto but maploader says the memory card must have been used at least once before. How can I have used it before if it's brand new??!!!

From memory it's the maps application on your phone that needs to have been opened once before rather than the memory card.
