i didnt think v20 for the nokia n95 8g was out just yet, i mean i knew they were working on it but i didnt know it was out. im using the default euro1 product code i dont know what number it is though. But i debranded it before i could even get to v15. But if there is a v20 then il check it out.

This is most odd
I am using the standard Nokia Software up-date software v1.4.36en and it is listing the version 20.0.016 as available.
I then un-installed the up-dater and installed an older version supplied with the phone and that doesn't list the up-date.
Paul
PS Whats the product code and how do I find it.

I think the product code is that piece of white label (take out the battery) next to the sim card slot. It should read lots of numbers. FCC ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxx IC: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (very long - THIS i assume is what is called the prodect code) WLAN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MODEL: N95-2 TYPE: RM-320
hope that helps

no no the product code is the 7 digit number on the white label located under the battery....you need to debrand it and take it to the euro1 product code to get the latest and most generic updates straight from nokia....step by step instructions are available on how to do this in the n95 8gb section of the forum

Version 20 has now decided to install on mine as well.
First thing to note is that TomTom 6 now will not install.
It flashes up a message about it being un-safe software.

i installed v20...and had a shit load of problems!!! the phone became SO slow...i did a restore from a back i made and it became EVEN slower!!....most of my applications became corrupted and unusable...was disgusting....so i uninstalled everything....did a new format on the hardrive...and then re-installed v20...now it works nicely....cant see much difference between the two version though...and ASR is NOT included in this update....
all i gotta do now is re-install everything...luckily i have copies of my signed apps:-)

I updated my 95-8GB a few days back and it runs alot better on V20 than it did on V11 andwhen i hacked it for V15 it was awfull. The only problem i have with V20 is that it loses the time and date everytime the phone the phone is turned off and on, and this is a problem for someone who relys on the phone as an alarm clock. Loving the auto rotate feature that nokia decided to include!
