Just purchased my N95 8GB

Hello everyone....

Just got my hands on this phone yesterday and love it so far.
I have been reading all sorts of things on how to customize the look of the phone.
I notice that on all the videos that I watch on youtube about the phone, that on the home screen, there are 7 icons scrolled across the top of the screen. Mine has none and I am trying to figure out how to apply them there. I am guessing that they are shortcuts of some kind. Would be handy. Can't figure it out.

thats your active standby to activate press menu, settings, general, personisation, standby mode, it will say active standby off just click on it to activate.

That worked!

I see that there are 3 lines under the 7 shortcuts.

1- Search internet
2-Calendar
3-WLAN Scan
Is it possible to chage the lines?

I don`t think so you can change the 7 icons goto just under where you turned on active standby and change them to what you want.

But I have seen the web pics of other N95's and the 3 text lines that I mentioned are not present under the 7 icons (shorcuts).

Hiyah mate, daves right, you can only change the 7 direct access icons but the 3 lines you talk of ( i have 4 ( 4th one is share online)) cant be changed or removed leaving only the 7 icons, have you seen web pics of the 95 8gb or the 95 ?

hello guys.
I have this I'm keen to get the most from my phone! - I know it's no iPhone or HTC but still there are apps made for it, and some useful stuff.

I have Opera Mini, on suggestions from almost anywhere, but aside from that I've not nabbed anything else.

I have hte maps application included with the phone, alas because it's version 2 it seems I have to pay Nokia to use the walk or drive directions boo! - Does anyone know any other GPS/Sat Nav alternatives which are free? - It's not a massive big deal, I doubt I'll use it much, but it sounds useful.
