Hi,

I converted the Transformers movie in to MP4 format from my DVD to watch it on my phone.

I copied this file to the My Video folder on my N95 8gig and I can see it listed under the video section.

However when I try to load it the screen just returns to the main N95 menu and doesn't play the video at all!!!

Very annoying as I want to take a few films with me on my phone.

The size of the film is reduced to about 500MB.

Any ideas why it's doing this?

I thought perhaps it's too large for the memory, but not sure. Has anyone succesfully converted a film for the N95 and got any advice?

thanks

hi there i have the saw quadrology and a few other films on my 8gb nokia all i did was get the films in a divx or xvid format and used a programme called plato to convert each film is now only 200-300 mb per film and still perfect quality. if you want the programme i can provide it to you just email me on gregpalmer1983@hotmail.co.uk.

yeah, I suspect from your post that the size of my file may be an issue.

I'll try another smaller file.

if you are converting from a avi. format to mp4 it dosnt work i had trouble myself and couldnt figure out what was going on untill i tryed playing the converted file on my computer from the nokia folder all i got was sound, did a goodle search and found this is a common issue, if it is this you could always download divx player for your mobile (great application and its free too) from the divx site easy enough to find and use the divx converter or something similar to make the file smaller if you want to save space (file size shouldnt be an issue, i can play a 700mb avi movie with divx very smoothly only problem is how much space it uses)
