Hi to all,
i enjoy checking this site out, so i thought i would mention problems with my new N95.

First off, i have a Vodafone account, and upgraded to new mobile (N95), due to hype surrounding it.
I recieved mobile, with no other info, or instructions, apart from booklet in package.
Had to get patch sent to my phone to enable text messages!!, web browser does not work, never viewed a web page, and sat nav, totally useless in my area, due to low reception coverage.
Phone freezes every day during calls, i can hear caller, caller cant hear me!!
Best bit... new phone bill today with £56 for data charges!!!
£48 charged within 8 minute period, from 8 connections.
Yes, £6 per connection for internet use.
Called Vodafone, informed it has to be valid, as the data was downloaded to the phone.
When informed them i have never viewed a web page, they stated it was use of sat nav.
When i questioned time online, the £6 charge was same for 32 seconds online, as for 33 minutes online, and same amount of data downloaded!!!
I have never downloaded any maps, or anything else since i recieved this phone, and have informed Vodafone i would rather use my old 810i, than this new phone, and they said i should read the manual to get real benefit of phone!!!!!
£6 charge every time i try to use the sat nav system sounds like a winner.....not!!!!!

No - you can tell the phone NOT to use your GPRS connection at all, but you will need to download the maps via the maploader software.

That way there are NO data charges at all.

Also had the problem I could hear caller but they could not hear me, contacted Vodafone replacement phone delivered within 24 hours.  Also, check with Vodafone reference data charges they have just introduced some value packs, either on a daily basis limited to £1 per day or £7.50 per month, much better value.
